In 1997, my daughter came to me and admitted she was using heroin. I was uneducated about this drug and thought, “Angie, if you love me you can quit.” I had no concept of the power of the drug we were dealing with. My daughter said, “Mom, I need this drug like I need air to breathe”.   Click Here

MOMSTELL President represented the Family Voice on the newly released Juvenile Drug Treatment Court (JDTC) Guidelines.

The new JDTC guidelines offer courts, families, and youth an evidence-based, treatment-oriented approach that emphasizes family engagement and addresses the substance use and often co-occurring mental health disorders experienced by many adolescents engaged with the justice system. The Guidelines were issued by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) To read the report  Click Here
